Strasse roll out new Class One contender for 2012

2011 Team Champions looking to retain Porsche Club GB Championship titlee

Strasse Racing rolled out there new car in full livery for the 2012 Porsche Club GB Championship today. The Strasse stable will once again have a strong team line up with Richard Ellis back again in his 993 and David Botterhill in the 964 but all eyes will be on the 2010 overall class winner and 2011 class two winner Chris Dyer who for 2012 moves up to class one in a 968.

Dyer who has dominated the Porsche Club Championship class two ranking for a number of years thought now was time to flex his muscles in class one. Dyer is no stranger to mixing it up with the faster cars as he showed during his guest ride in the prestige one-make-series the Porsche Carrera Cup GB in front of record crowds at Rockingham in 2011 just missing out on a podium finish.

Strasse Pilot Chris Dyer

I think that class one is going to be really competitive this year with the new introduction of the 996's and Boxters, but hopefully the 968 is the right car to have to beat them . I know that we now have the choice to use the 968 in class two or class one but taking part in class two would be like taking a backward step so I opted for class one, it will be interesting to find out what the 996's and boxters will do, what their the overall race length will be. I know what the 968's can do but I think the 964's can still be competitive even the 993's. Richard Ellis has got better and better each year in his 993 so he is going be pretty good this year we will have to wait until the first race to see what happens, it's going to be a very interesting year.

The first race of the Porsche Club GB Championship kicks off at Brands Hatch on the 5th May
